Pastmaster Dr Andrew Parmley: London’s 689th Lord Mayor

Congratulations to Pastmaster Dr Andrew Parmley, who was elected as London’s 689th Lord Mayor on 29th September 2016 and took up office on 11th November 2016. Raised in Blackpool, Andrew Parmley is currently Principal at the Harrodian School in Barnes.

Andrew’s ‘mother’ livery company is The Musicians’ Company, and to celebrate the occasion the Company’s float  – a superb origami swan designed by Opcyon Ltd – appeared first in the procession at this year’s Lord Mayor’s Show. The float featured the Yeomen quintet Westcombe Brass and a sextet from the National Youth Jazz Orchestra, an organisation that the Company strongly supports. Both groups took turns to play during the procession, and were supported by several members of the Company walking with the float.
