Yeoman Ashok Gupta Wins Accompanist’s Prize at Kathleen Ferrier Awards

Congratulations to pianist Ashok Gupta, who was recently awarded the Help Musicians UK Accompanist’s Prize at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards 2016. The annual competition was held at the Wigmore Hall on 29 April.

Ashok was an organ scholar at Clare College, Cambridge before studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He is currently studying for an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma at the Birmingham Conservatoire.

As an accompanist, Ashok has worked with a variety of artists, including mezzo-soprano Dame Ann Murray and flautist Daniel Pailthorpe. He can soon be heard playing continuo with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in Glyndebourne Festival’s Le nozze di Figaro this summer.
