Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition 2016

The 2016 winners of the Dankworth Prize for Jazz Composition saw their pieces premiered at Trinity Laban on 1st March, performed by the Trinity Laban Jazz Ensemble directed by Simon Purcell.  Jacqui, Alec and Emily Dankworth attended to present the prizes.  The award for Big Band was won by Matthew Read from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, with A Pun for Simon, and the prize for Small Ensemble went to Billy Marrows, studying at the Royal Academy of Music, for Desterata.
