Biography

Malgorzata Garstka – Piano

Nicolas Dupont – Violin

Margarita Balanas – Cello

The London-based Argenta Trio was formed in 2015. Malgorzata Garstka, Nicolas Dupont and Margarita Balanas have all studied at prestigious music conservatoires around the world, and between them have obtained music degrees from CNSM of Paris (FR), the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (BE), the Purcell School of Music (UK) and the Royal Academy of Music (UK).
The trio is currently guided by Michael Dussek and Jo Cole at the Royal Academy of Music.

As young, yet established chamber musicians, the members have previously participated in prestigious festivals such as Pablo Casals Festival (FR), Aurora Chamber Music Festival (SW), Prussia Cove (UK), Encuentro de Musica de Santander (SP), Musica Mundi (BE) and Piatagorsky International Cello Festival (USA) and have extensively performed across the UK, Europe and the USA.

The trio aims to explore the lesser-known repertoire from their native countries and to work closely with their national composers, in order to contribute to the piano trio repertoire and to build bridges between cultures, countries and people.

This seasons concert engagements include UK performances at the London School of Economics, St Martin-in-the-Fields, St. Peter’s Church, Conway Hall and the Royal Academy of Music.

In March 2017, the Argenta Trio was selected for a Wigmore Hall recital by the The Musicians’ Company and the Concordia Foundation Artists’ Fund.
