Biography

Dan Laurie is a first year student studying classical double bass at the Royal College of Music under the tutoring of bass professor Caroline Emery. At the RCM Dan participates in Orchestras, Chamber ensembles and the RCM big band as well as individual ensembles, ranging from Free Jazz to classical music. As well as playing double bass, Dan is an accomplished bass guitar player with teaching and performance experiences. Notable venues played include Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Cadogan Hall, Royal Festival Hall and Jazz @ Pizza Express. Along side his studies, Dan gigs with various bands playing anything from live electronic music to free jazz and folk both on double bass and bass guitar. He is also a keen producer and DJ who focuses on DnB music and EDM but still continues to produce varied material, concentrating on sound design and the post production processes.
