Biography

Italian violist Elena Accogli is currently studying with Nathan Braude at the Royal College of Music, where she holds the Aston Lark Insurance Scholarship.  Elena has performed as a soloist, in chamber groups and orchestras, both nationally and internationally as well as in masterclasses such as with Mate Szucks, Martin Outram and Garfield Jackson.  Elena was principal viola of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, an experience that led her to perform in a number of prominent concert halls around the UK and in Europe including Royal Albert Hall, Royal Festival Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Barbican and Konzerthaus Berlin.

She has taken part in orchestral projects with London Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra and Concertgebouw Orchestra and has played under the baton of conductors including Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Mark Elder, Daniele Gatti and Sakari Oramo. Elena was recently invited to join LGT Young Soloists for a tour including solo and chamber music performances in Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok and Hong Kong as well as for a recording in Berlin.
