Biography

Having graduated with distinction for her Masters in Performance from the Royal College of Music in 2017, Katie specialises in Recorder, Baroque Oboe and the Dulcian.

Whilst at the RCM she was proud to to be the ‘Fenella and Harry Hope Memorial Scholar’ supported by an ‘HSH Dr Prince Donatus von Hohenzollern award’, as well as being supported by a ‘Help Musicians UK’ Postgraduate Award. Katie was delighted to be awarded with HRH Elizabeth the Queen Mother Rose Bowl at her final graduation ceremony in July 2017.

Katie studied Recorder with Professor Ashley Solomon, Julien Feltrin and María Martínez Ayerza, Baroque Oboe with Gail Hennessy, and the Dulcian with Wouter Verschuren.

As well as numerous performances with BLOCK4, Katie regularly performs with various Baroque Orchestras around London as well as with the RCM Baroque Orchestra on Baroque Oboe. Past performances have included first oboe for the British staged Premier of Les fêtes d’Hébé  in the Britten Theatre and at the Opera Bastille in Paris, as well as performances of Marcello’s Concerto in D minor for Oboe  in Bolivia’s Baroque Music Festival, and as part of the 24 Violon du Roi in the Palace of Versailles and the 2012 BBC Proms.

In September of 2014, a 3-month worldwide tour took Katie around the world performing in recital halls in Taiwan, China, Russia and the Far-east, playing Recorders, Shawms and Percussion for A Midsummer Night’s Dream with the Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre.
